Server-Side rendering with React

There are a lot of ways to create a web application with JavaScript these days. We developers often need to make critical architecture decisions of our applications. Choosing the right framework, deciding how to manage the state and tons of cloud solutions to host it. Also because of the hype we all think in a Single Page Application way. But, is it a magic solution for each project?

We'll talk about Server Side Rendering for JavaScript Apps:
Understanding Client-Side Rendering (CSA)
Understanding Server-Side Rendering (SSR)
When should you use Server-Side Rendering?
The pros and cons of each approach
Does it worth?

Events Agenda
18:00 – Doors open. Food & drinks provided
19:00 – Server-Side Rendering for JavaScript Applications by Ilker Altin
19:30 – Break
19:45 – Anatomy of a React Server-Side Application by Ilker Altin
20:15 – Pool, laughing, networking, and drinks until someone kicks us out!

Biography Ilker Altin
Ilker Altin is a developer, teacher, speaker, and member of the Javascript Squad at LINKIT. Ilker is helping clients to achieve their business objectives with strong software products. He has experience building mid to large scale web and mobile projects over eleven years. He is currently developing products with Javascript, React and React Native. He is also underwater captain, because he loves to Scuba Dive!

Our goal for this Meetup is to explore SSR together regardless of your preferred javascript framework. Server-Side Rendering for Javascript applications is challenging. But don't worry we'll figure it out together!

So everyone is welcome to join. You will have Ping-Pong, pool table, foosball, darts, beers and - of course! - food!!

Requirements
Basic Javascript knowledge

Who is not coming by car?

At night, the LINKIT office is hard (not impossible) to reach by public transport. Therefor, we provide free transport between Utrecht Central Station and back after the event, to make your life easy.

No need to worry, just sign up here: https://linkit.typeform.com/to/haFC7C

We need this to check if we need a car, a van, a bus or a massive truck!
